Real life
Work, family, getting older, ADHD, responsibility, and the small victories nobody hands out trophies for.
My story
IowaDad isn’t a character I invented. It’s what happened when ordinary Iowa life, a camera, a strange sense of humor, and one very loud brain ended up in the same place.

Chris from Iowa
I’m an Iowa guy with a factory job, a wife, two daughters, ADHD, bills, responsibilities, and the same daily question a lot of people have: how is it already Monday again?
I started sharing pieces of life because the ordinary stuff deserves a witness too. The drive home after a long shift. A sky that changes the whole evening. A joke that lands a little too accurately. A cardinal showing up at the feeder like he has a meeting scheduled.
That became IowaDad—a place for humor, photographs, family life, Iowa scenery, backyard wildlife, and honest observations from somebody still figuring it out as he goes.
What you’ll find here
The goal is simple: keep it real, notice the good stuff, and laugh before the day gets any ideas.
Work, family, getting older, ADHD, responsibility, and the small victories nobody hands out trophies for.
Big skies, small towns, changing weather, backroads, familiar places, and a sense of humor built for the Midwest.
Birds, squirrels, flowers, strange bugs, quiet water, and the moments that make a long week feel lighter.
Why photography matters
Photography started as a way to save what caught my attention. It became a reminder that ordinary doesn’t mean empty. A bird on a fence, light through a willow, or the last color in an Iowa sunset can carry more feeling than a big speech.
The photography page isn’t limited to Iowa. It’s a growing collection of whatever feels worth keeping—backyard visitors, landscapes, places, travel, details, and whatever I happen to find next.

When the joke isn’t enough
LiThBaNd is where I put the things that don’t fit inside a funny post—pressure, love, fatherhood, fear, memory, and the thoughts that get louder after midnight.
IowaDad and LiThBaNd sound different, but they come from the same place: real life, told honestly.
