Sparkle Eyes

Sparkle Eyes came from seeing the light in someone you love, even on the days when they’re struggling to hold onto it themselves.

Where it came from

This song came from something real. It was inspired by my wife, but not just by the good moments. It came from seeing both sides of someone at the same time — the light they show the world, and the weight they carry underneath it.

There’s a certain look someone can have where you can tell everything without them saying a word. That’s where this started. That little star isn’t just happiness. It’s everything behind it too.

It’s not about perfect love or some fake movie version of connection. It’s about noticing the little flicker in somebody, even when life is wearing them down, and wanting to protect that part of them.

What it means

Sparkle Eyes is about loving someone enough to see all of it. Not just the surface. Not just the easy parts. The joy, the fight, the things they don’t say out loud.

It’s about wanting to protect that light in them, even when they’re struggling to hold onto it themselves. Being the place they can fall apart without having to pretend they’re okay.

Even though it came from my life, it’s really about anyone who’s ever looked at someone and thought… I see you. All of you.

The heart of it

Some people see a smile. Some people see a moment. This song came from seeing everything behind it.

The real feeling in Sparkle Eyes is that mix of love, protection, and quiet understanding. Knowing somebody is carrying more than they say, and wanting to be the place where they don’t have to hide it.

Core feeling

Seeing the light in someone… and choosing to protect it, even on the days they can’t.

Sparkle eyes That little star hidden deep in your eyes So close I could almost touch it So far it feels like sky You look up Then right through me in the same breath I catch one flicker of that light And I'm lost inside your chest That little star hidden deep in your eyes I could watch it all my life Can I keep it shining bright for you? (Yeah) When your gaze falls I'll lift it high I see your joy I feel your fight That little star I'll guard it like it's mine That little star in your eyes When they meet mine That tiny flare tells me everything I see laughter at the surface And a storm behind the grin You say “I’m fine” But the shadows linger at the rim Let me be the quiet corner You can let the darkness in That little star hidden deep in your eyes I could watch it all my life Can I keep it shining bright for you? (Oh) When your gaze falls I'll lift it high I see your joy I feel your fight That little star I'll guard it like it's mine That little star in your eyes If it ever starts to fade If the night feels too long Lean your tired head on me I’ll reflect what you forgot Every wound behind your smile Every tear you never cried I’ll stay right here Just tracing That little star inside That little star hidden deep in your eyes I could watch it all my life Can I keep it shining bright for you? (Yeah, for you) When your gaze falls I'll lift it high I see your joy I feel your fight That little star I’ll guard it all my life That little star in your eyes
